-Outdoor Amenities-
The fully fenced backyard is the heart of Sun Mesa Sanctuary, offering a private setting where your group can spend the entire day outdoors. Cool off in the custom in-ground pool, soak in the hot tub or settle into a sun lounger with nowhere else to be. Please note that the pool does not have a heater, while hot tub heating is included with your stay.

For a complete desert spa experience, enjoy the barrel-style infrared sauna, rinse beneath the custom outdoor shower or take a long soak in one of the two outdoor bathtubs, each supplied with hot and cold water. The yard also features a full-size pickleball court, putting green, hammocks, a gas BBQ and a picnic table for relaxed outdoor meals. As evening settles over the desert, gather around the built-in gas fire pit and look up at the expansive night sky.

-Living Area-
The inviting living area gives your group a comfortable place to reconnect after a day in Joshua Tree National Park. Warm desert-inspired details and relaxed furnishings create an easygoing atmosphere for morning coffee, afternoon conversations and quiet evenings together. The decorative indoor fireplace adds character to the room but is not functional. Gather around the smart TV for a movie night after the adventures of the day end.

-Kitchen & Dining-
The kitchen is equipped for everything from quick breakfasts before a hike to relaxed dinners at home. Prepare meals together, keep drinks and snacks close at hand and enjoy an easy flow between the indoor gathering spaces and the backyard dining area. Outside, the gas BBQ and picnic table make it easy to cook and dine beneath the open desert sky. Please note that the refrigerator’s water and ice line is not connected. Ice trays are provided in the freezer, and guests may wish to bring bottled drinking water.

-Bedrooms & Bathrooms-
Sun Mesa Sanctuary offers four thoughtfully decorated bedrooms and two shared bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to eight guests.

The primary bedroom features a California king bed, the second bedroom has a king, and the third and fourth each offer a queen bed. A queen Koala brand sofa bed also folds out for additional sleeping space. The two bathrooms serve the bedrooms and common areas, providing convenient spaces for guests to refresh before a day of exploring or unwind after an evening beneath the stars.

Sun Mesa Sanctuary places you close to the creative energy of Joshua Tree while providing a peaceful setting away from the busier village center. Browse local shops and galleries, enjoy the area’s independent restaurants and cafés or spend the day exploring the dramatic rock formations, desert trails and iconic Joshua trees of Joshua Tree National Park.

The surrounding high desert is known for expansive views, vivid sunsets, wellness experiences, live music and exceptionally dark skies. Whether your plans include hiking, sound baths, stargazing or simply slowing down by the pool, this is an ideal home base for experiencing the area.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

-Parking-
A maximum of four vehicles is permitted at the property under the short-term rental permit. Vehicles must be parked in the driveway. The garage is not available for parking, and street parking is prohibited.

-Pool & Hot Tub-
Please rinse off before entering these amenities, and do not allow pets in the pool or hot tub. The pool is not heated. Hot tub heating is included with your stay.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Refrigerator-
The refrigerator’s ice and water line is not connected. Ice trays are available in the freezer, and filtered water is available.

-Indoor Fireplace-
The indoor fireplace is decorative and not functional. Central heating is provided to keep the home comfortable during the winter months.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Late Check Out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.
