Designed by Hammer & Spear, this thoughtfully crafted desert retreat celebrates simplicity, natural light, and intentional living. Set on five private acres in Yucca Valley, the home's soft palette, warm natural materials, and sun-filled interiors create an atmosphere that feels open, calming, and effortlessly restorative.

From the moment you arrive, the outside world begins to fade. Mornings are filled with golden light pouring through expansive windows as the desert slowly comes to life. As sunlight moves across the landscape throughout the day, the home becomes an ever-changing backdrop for slow mornings, afternoon relaxation, and unforgettable evenings.

Start the day with coffee as the desert awakens around you. Cool off in the seasonal cowboy plunge pool, enjoy the outdoor rain shower beneath blue skies, or simply settle into one of the lounge spaces with a good book and nowhere to be. As evening arrives, gather around the fire pit, share dinner beneath the shaded patio, and finish the day soaking in the private hot tub beneath a blanket of stars. With almost no light pollution, the night sky becomes one of the home's most memorable amenities.

The kitchen is modern, inviting, and fully equipped for everything from leisurely breakfasts to intimate dinners. Stainless steel appliances, a gas range, microwave, cookware, and thoughtful essentials make preparing meals effortless. Begin your mornings with locally roasted coffee from the drip coffee maker or French press before gathering around the dining table as sunlight fills the room.

Outside, the shaded dining area and propane BBQ create the perfect setting for long lunches, sunset dinners, and evenings that linger well after the stars appear.

-Bedroom & Bathroom-
Pause House AM comfortably accommodates two guests within its thoughtfully designed open-concept studio. The queen-size Casper mattress is dressed in premium Parachute linens and surrounded by soft natural textures that create an atmosphere of complete relaxation. Large windows fill the space with beautiful desert light throughout the day, while carefully selected furnishings maintain the home's clean, understated aesthetic.

The spa-inspired ensuite bathroom features a luxurious rain shower and modern finishes designed to complement the home's calming atmosphere. Just outside, the open-air rain shower offers a refreshing way to reconnect with nature after a day spent exploring the desert.

Damage Waiver Policy: Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver

The entire home and property are yours to enjoy during your stay. Please note that a few supply closets are locked to store housekeeping and maintenance supplies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area. Rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

Please note that the final stretch to the home is on maintained dirt roads. Four-wheel drive is not required, but road conditions can vary and may have bumps or ruts, particularly after rainstorms. Please take it slow.

-Cowboy Tub Availability-
The cowboy tub is drained and unavailable for guest use during winter months (November - March) to prevent the filter from freezing and breaking.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, with a limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1,000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

For thrill-seekers, explore rock climbing adventures, dune buggy rides, or horseback riding. All vendor details are available in our guidebook upon booking, making it easy to craft your ideal getaway. Many services can come directly to the house, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable stay!

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Security Camera-
There is one exterior security camera monitoring the driveway for vehicle and occupancy compliance. There are no cameras facing private outdoor living areas, including the hot tub, plunge pool, or outdoor shower.

Damage Waiver Policy: Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver

-Late Check Out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.
