Welcome to Sunflower by The Cohost Company, a private 40-acre desert retreat where modern comfort, open space, and play come together beneath the Joshua Tree sky. With panoramic mountain views, multiple private dwellings, a pool, spa, firepit, pickleball court, golf range, mini golf, frisbee golf and so much more, this peaceful retreat invites groups to reconnect, celebrate, and settle into the magic of the High Desert in Joshua Tree.

Sunflower is a stylish, modern desert compound designed for privacy, connection, and unforgettable group stays. The property includes a spacious three-bedroom main house and a two-bedroom casita, each with its own kitchen and living area. Clean lines, thoughtful artwork, comfortable furnishings, and abundant natural light create a relaxed atmosphere, while wide-open views stretch across the estate toward the surrounding mountains and Joshua Tree National Park.

Accommodating up to 14 guests, the estate is ideal for families and groups of friends seeking equal parts adventure and ease. Spend the day swimming, playing, hiking, or exploring the property, then gather for dinner, stargazing, and a soak beneath the desert sky.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The outdoor spaces at Sunflower turn the entire estate into a private desert playground. The new swimming pool and in-ground spa overlook the mountains and broad high-desert landscape, while a separate eight-person Jacuzzi hot tub offers another place to unwind. Pool heating may be available during cooler months for an additional fee and should be requested in advance.

Gather around the propane fire pit, settle into the hammock circle, share a meal at one of the outdoor dining or picnic areas, or fire up the propane BBQ. The sports court, disc golf course, polo field sculpture garden, and 40 fenced acres offer plenty of ways to play and explore without leaving the property. As the sun sets, the estate becomes a peaceful setting for breezy evenings and remarkable stargazing.

The entire property is fenced and gated for privacy and security. Dogs have room to enjoy the outdoors, though they should always be supervised.

-Living Areas-
Both the main house and casita feature open-plan living spaces that connect naturally with their kitchens, making it easy for groups to spend time together while still enjoying the privacy of separate dwellings. The interiors feel bright, modern, and comfortable, with distinctive artwork, relaxed furnishings, and views that keep the desert landscape close.

The main house living room includes a Smart TV, music player, books, and games. The casita also has a comfortable living area with a Smart TV. These spaces are made for slow mornings over coffee, relaxed afternoons between adventures, and cozy movie nights after exploring Joshua Tree.

-Kitchens & Dining-
The main house and casita each have a modern, fully equipped kitchen, giving guests flexibility when cooking for a group. Cabinets are stocked with cookware, dinnerware, drinkware, baking sheets, pots, pans, plates, and serving platters. The main house kitchen includes a gas stove, microwave, toaster, blender, and dishwasher, along with salt, pepper, sugar, and a small selection of spices.

Coffee lovers can choose from traditional drip coffee makers, Keurig machines, and French presses in both spaces, with a starter supply of coffee pods provided. In the main house, the breakfast bar seats four, and ample indoor and outdoor dining areas make everything from casual breakfasts to celebratory dinners feel effortless. A propane BBQ expands the possibilities for relaxed meals beneath the desert sky.

-Bedrooms & Bathrooms-
The main house has three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The primary suite features a king bed, ensuite bathroom, Smart TV, and private patio access. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen bed and share a full bathroom. An additional full bathroom is located near the laundry area.

The casita has two private bedrooms with closets, one furnished with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. The bedrooms share a full bathroom. The casita also includes its own living area and kitchen, creating a comfortable private retreat within the larger estate. Access to the casita is provided for groups larger than four.

-Surrounding Area-
Sunflower offers the rare feeling of complete desert solitude while remaining close to Joshua Tree's best-known experiences. The property is approximately one mile from Joshua Tree Village and three miles from Joshua Tree National Park, placing scenic drives, hiking trails, climbing areas, cafes, shops, and local art within easy reach.

Spend the morning exploring the park's otherworldly rock formations and namesake trees, visit the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, or browse the shops in Joshua Tree Village. Local favorites include Joshua Tree Coffee Company, Country Kitchen, Coyote Corner, and the Joshua Tree Saloon. Farther afield, guests can experience a sound bath at the Integratron, wander Pioneertown's historic Mane Street, enjoy live music at Pappy & Harriet's, or take a day trip to Palm Springs.

The surrounding landscape feels expansive and restorative, with sweeping desert views by day and exceptional stargazing after dark. We are hospitality driven and love helping guests connect with the culture, scenery, and serenity of Joshua Tree and the surrounding high desert.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy. Guests have private access to the main house, outdoor amenities, pool, spas, sports court, game room, and grounds. Access to the casita is provided for groups larger than four to help keep cleaning costs lower for smaller reservations.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

Please note that the last 0.3 miles to the home are dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.

-Property Configuration-
The property is designed across two separate structures - the Main House and the Casita. The Main House includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, living area, a kitchen, dining area and laundry. The Casita offers 2 additional bedrooms and 1 bathroom, along with its own living room, kitchen and dining area. Please note that the Casita is accessed via a separate exterior entrance. The Casita is located just a short walk from the Main House, creating a layout that balances togetherness with privacy. We recommend ensuring your group is comfortable with this indoor-outdoor flow prior to booking.

-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.

During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.

-Hot Tub Heating-
There is no fee to heat the in-ground spa. Because it is not heated continuously, please allow approximately 30 minutes for it to warm to 104°F from the ambient temperature.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool and hot tub are serviced on Wednesdays, generally between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Timing may vary slightly with the technician's schedule. The technician will not approach the house and will proceed directly to the pool area.

-Pet Policy-
Dogs are welcome with a one-time $100 pet fee per stay and a maximum of two dogs. Please let us know in advance if dogs will be joining your reservation. Cats and other pets are not permitted. Although the estate is fenced, dogs should be supervised outdoors and kept away from wildlife and sharp desert plants.

-Events and Commercial Photography-
Events and commercial photo shoots are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permits, and additional fees. Only registered guests may enter the property unless arrangements are approved during the booking process.

-Wildlife and Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.”

-Property Care-

-Late Check Out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.
