Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub, floating in the pool or enjoying a quiet morning, the home offers a calm, welcoming setting to slow down and recharge under open skies. Jiro West is an architectural desert retreat; designed and built by its owner, an artist, carpenter and architect. Set on 5 private acres, the home features clean lines, soaring vaulted ceilings and expansive windows that create a seamless connection to the surrounding landscape. The design blends a modern, minimalist approach with subtle Japanese-inspired elements, layered with desert warmth and bold red accents for an eclectic touch. Polished concrete floors and woodwork run throughout, while natural light pours in from every angle, creating a space that feels both airy and grounded. Framed by the open horizon of Landers, it’s an inviting place to reset and reconnect. - Outdoor Amenities - Multiple outdoor living spaces flow naturally from the home, from a front patio bistro set to the covered patio with lounge seating, outdoor dining, and a BBQ, then down to the fenced pool area. The space is open and intentional, designed for long, easy days outside. A striking lap-style pool sits within a fully fenced section of the property, complete with a baja tanning shelf for lounging in the water, surrounded by gravel, sun loungers, and unobstructed desert views. Just off the patio, the hot tub offers a more private place to unwind. A unique line of connected hammocks provides a relaxed spot to read or take in the landscape. Beyond the pool area, the full 5 acres remain wide and natural, offering privacy and uninterrupted mountain views. Sunsets stretch across the horizon and nights bring clear skies perfect for stargazing. - Living Area - The living area is open with high ceilings and large sliding glass doors that create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The space feels airy and uncluttered, with a focus on simplicity and comfort. It’s designed for slower living, whether that’s a quiet morning with coffee or an evening spent unwinding after a day exploring the outdoors. There are no TVs in the home, intentionally allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the desert setting and connect with the space around you. - Kitchen & Dining - The kitchen is compact and thoughtfully designed with efficiency in mind, making the most of the space without sacrificing function. It opens directly into the dining and living areas, with a barstool seating area that creates an easy, social flow for gathering and sharing meals. BeSpoke Nakashima-inspired stools and barstools add a sculptural, design-forward touch to the space. While the footprint is minimal, you’ll find everything you need to cook an amazing dinner with friends and family. The indoor dining area connects seamlessly to the outdoor patio, where you can continue meals outside under the open sky. - Bedrooms & Bathrooms - There are two bedrooms, both featuring king beds, large windows, and custom-built corner desks, making them ideal for rest, quiet work or longer stays. The design is minimal and intentional, with warm wood tones and thoughtful details throughout. Each bedroom feels private, calm and connected to the surrounding landscape. The bathroom is modern and well-designed, featuring a spacious walk-in shower and unique individual cube storage units that maximize every inch of space. The layout is both functional and visually striking, with refined finishes and thoughtful organization throughout. - Surrounding Area - Located in Landers, Jiro West offers a quieter, more expansive high desert experience, while Joshua Tree National Park sits just a scenic 30-minute drive away. Spend your days exploring hiking trails, rock formations and wide desert landscapes, then return to the stillness of your own private acreage. Nearby towns like Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley offer local cafes, small shops and a laid-back, creative energy. Whole Bean Coffee, Coffee Grinder, Sugars & a Variety of Tea ► Books & Board games ► Compact washer-dryer combo ► Zoom-Ready Wi-Fi, Perfect for Working from Home -Pool Heating Fee- Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool. ► $250 per night During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis. -Hot Tub- *No fee to heat the hot tub!* -Pet Policy- We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed. -Local Experiences- We’ve handpicked an incredible selection of local vendors to enhance your Joshua Tree stay, offering a mix of relaxation, adventure, and everything in between. Whether you’re seeking relaxation with sound baths, yoga sessions, meditation guides, in-home massages, facials, aromatherapy or the convenience of a personal chef of caterer, you'll find options to elevate your experience. For thrill-seekers, explore rock climbing adventures, dune buggy rides, or horseback riding. Many services can come directly to the house, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable stay! -Wildlife & Safety- The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert. -Security Cameras- There are exterior camera monitoring the driveway and exterior of the property for security and occupancy verification purposes. The locations are as follows: front gate and the front door facing the driveway. There are no cameras facing interior spaces or private areas such as the pool. -Damage Waiver Policy- Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver The best and fastest way to reach us is to send us a message on the message thread.
