The pool and elevated spa overlook rugged mountain views and native Joshua Tree terrain, creating a peaceful setting for long afternoons in the sun and quiet evenings under star-filled skies. Just beside the pool, a wood burning fire pit offers the perfect place to gather after sunset as the desert cools and the sky begins to glow. An outdoor dining area sits adjacent to the built-in BBQ and pizza oven, making outdoor cooking and shared meals feel effortless. The property also features a private outdoor sauna tucked into the landscape for a more restorative experience. A short walk down the pathway leads to a secluded hammock circle nestled into the desert, offering another quiet space to relax, read or stargaze beneath the open sky. With wide open surroundings, soft breezes and incredible sunsets, the outdoor experience at Sun Drift feels immersive, peaceful and intentionally connected to nature. - Living Area - The main living space feels bright, spacious and inviting, with large sliding glass doors that open directly to the outdoor patio and pool area. Clean architectural lines are softened by earthy textures, warm woods and a large oversized sectional designed for long conversations and slow mornings with coffee. The open concept layout creates an easy flow between the living room, dining area and kitchen, making the space ideal for gathering while still feeling calm and uncluttered. Decorative candlelit fireplaces add warmth and atmosphere, while curated decor and natural materials keep the home feeling grounded and serene. Just off the main living room is a cozy music and game nook featuring instruments, records, seating areas and a telescope for stargazing, offering a more intimate space to unwind after a day of exploring the desert. - Kitchen & Dining - The kitchen was designed as both a functional gathering space and a sculptural centerpiece of the home. Large windows bring in natural light while framing views of the surrounding desert landscape. The home includes two thoughtfully designed bathrooms. One features a spa-inspired walk-in shower wrapped in rich Zia tile with warm earthy tones and a double vanity, creating a luxurious retreat-like feel. The second bathroom includes a shower and bathtub combination, offering flexibility for both quick rinses after the pool and slower evenings spent unwinding. Throughout the home, the design remains cohesive, minimal and warm, with an emphasis on comfort, simplicity and connection to the surrounding environment. - Surrounding Area - Located in Joshua Tree, Sun Drift offers a peaceful desert setting with easy access to some of the area’s most iconic landscapes, hiking trails and local attractions. The surrounding scenery is defined by expansive open desert, dramatic mountain ranges and the unmistakable beauty of Joshua Trees scattered across the landscape. Joshua Tree National Park offers endless opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, scenic drives, stargazing and exploring unique desert terrain. Nearby towns throughout the high desert are known for their creative energy, local cafes, vintage shops, galleries and small businesses that give the area its distinct character. Please note that the garage and a few closets are being used for storage for supplies for the rental that are locked to guests. Please note that Sun Drift is in a remote location and the last mile to the home are dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have large bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms. A personal vehicle is necessary; rideshare apps are not guaranteed in this area. Please make sure to follow our directions to the house, as following GPS may take you on roads that are not maintained. -Pool Heating Fee- Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool. ► $250 per night During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis. -Hot Tub Heating- Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature. -Pool and Hot Tub Service- The pool and hot tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the pool. -Pet Policy- We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed. -Local Experiences- We’ve handpicked an incredible selection of local vendors to enhance your Joshua Tree stay, offering a mix of relaxation, adventure, and everything in between. Whether you’re seeking relaxation with sound baths, yoga sessions, meditation guides, in-home massages, facials, aromatherapy or the convenience of a personal chef of caterer, you'll find options to elevate your experience. For thrill-seekers, explore rock climbing adventures, dune buggy rides, or horseback riding. Other unique experiences include guided stargazing tours under the breathtaking desert sky or guided hikes accompanied by mini donkeys! All vendor details are available in our guidebook upon booking, making it easy to craft your ideal getaway. Many services can come directly to the house, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable stay! -Wildlife & Safety- The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert. -Security Cameras- There is an exterior camera next to the front door monitoring the front entry and exterior of the property for security and occupancy verification purposes. There are no cameras facing interior spaces or private areas such as the pool.
