As the sun begins to set, prepare dinner on the propane BBQ, with propane provided, and gather around the outdoor dining table with seating for six. The patio also features a comfortable outdoor sectional arranged around a propane firepit. It is an inviting place to share a drink, watch the colors change across the canyon, and enjoy the stars as they emerge over the desert.

The living room brings together mid-century modern design and relaxed ranch character, creating a space that feels stylish without sacrificing comfort. An oversized bean bag invites you to sink in and stay awhile, while the record player and record collection provide the soundtrack for slow mornings and cozy evenings at home. During the cooler months, light the wood-burning stove and enjoy a peaceful winter morning with coffee, music, and views of the surrounding desert. The fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to prepare everything from a casual breakfast to a celebratory desert dinner. Whether you are packing snacks for a day in Joshua Tree National Park or cooking a leisurely meal at home, the kitchen is equipped for a comfortable and convenient stay. The indoor dining table seats six and provides a welcoming gathering place for shared meals, games, and conversation. Outside, a second dining area seats six on the patio, with a propane BBQ and propane provided for easy grilling beneath the open desert sky.

-Bedrooms & Bathrooms-
The two bedrooms continue the home’s peaceful, welcoming atmosphere, providing comfortable retreats after a day of desert exploration. The primary bedroom has a king bed and direct access to the bathroom, while the second bedroom has a queen bed with access to the bathroom a short walk down the hall.

The oversized bathroom offers both a separate shower and bathtub, giving guests the choice of a quick rinse after hiking or a long, relaxing soak before bed. Spacious and thoughtfully appointed, it brings another layer of comfort to the easygoing ranch experience.

-Surrounding Area-
Lazy J Ranch is tucked into peaceful North Yucca Valley, where sweeping desert views and quiet surroundings create a true sense of escape. Although the ranch feels wonderfully removed, the shops, restaurants, vintage stores, and everyday conveniences of Yucca Valley are approximately 15 minutes away.

Joshua Tree National Park’s West Entrance is approximately 23 minutes from the property. Inside the park, guests can explore scenic drives, striking rock formations, hiking trails, climbing areas, and landscapes filled with the region’s namesake Joshua trees. Sunrise and sunset bring especially beautiful light, while clear evenings offer extraordinary views of the night sky.

The ranch is also conveniently located for visiting downtown Joshua Tree, Pioneertown, the Integratron, Flamingo Heights, and the area’s many independent restaurants, galleries, and creative spaces. After a day of exploring, return to the quiet of Lazy J Ranch for a soothing soak and a peaceful evening beneath the stars.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

-Neighbor’s Dog-
As you approach the main gate, you may hear our neighbor’s large, watchful dog welcoming you with a few very enthusiastic barks. He is safely on the neighboring property and is simply doing his job of guarding his home. We appreciate your understanding!

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Firewood-
We do not provide firewood for the wood burning fireplace, if you'd like to enjoy the fireplace, we recommend picking up bundles of firewood at a local grocery store. Please only use firewood and fire starters, do not use lighter fluid.

-Hot Tub & Cowboy Tub Service-
The hot tub and cowboy tub are serviced every Tuesday and Friday between 9am and 4pm, just so you are aware our spa technician will be there to treat it around that time. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. They will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard to the tubs.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Security Camera-
There is an exterior camera monitoring the driveway for security and occupancy verification purposes. The location is as follows: on the flag pole by the front door facing down at the door . There are no cameras facing interior spaces or private areas such as the hot tub and pool.

-Late Check Out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.
