  The outdoor experience at Avira unfolds across 5 private acres, offering a rare blend of openness and seclusion. The fully fenced backyard creates a sense of privacy while still embracing the surrounding desert landscape. An in-ground pool and spa sit at the center, complete with built-in barstools, ideal for warm afternoons or evenings under the stars. Nearby, a stargazing net offers a one-of-a-kind place to stretch out and take in the night sky, while the outdoor projector brings a cinematic feel to evenings outside. A propane fire pit anchors the space at sunset, naturally drawing people together, while the dome adds a distinctive and memorable element to the property.

For a more active pace, the private pickleball court offers an easy way to spend time outdoors. At the front of the home, patio chairs provide a quiet setting for morning coffee or journaling, with uninterrupted views of the desert. As the light shifts throughout the day, the landscape transforms, giving way to vibrant sunsets and clear, star-filled skies.

The primary bedroom features a king bed and an open layout, creating a restful and spacious retreat. Large windows bring in consistent natural light, while a chaise lounge provides a comfortable place to read, rest or start the day at your own pace. The second bedroom includes two queen beds and a dedicated desk area, making it a practical option for groups or anyone needing a workspace during their stay. The bathroom is minimal and refined, with smooth plaster finishes, warm brass fixtures and a walk-in shower that feels clean and understated, offering a straightforward yet elevated experience.

  Avira is set within the open High Desert, where wide stretches of land and distant mountain ranges create a quiet, expansive backdrop. Joshua Tree National Park is about 25 minutes away, known for its dramatic rock formations, hiking trails and uniquely sculpted desert terrain. Downtown Joshua Tree offers a mix of local cafés, boutiques, art galleries and rotating farmer’s and artisan markets, reflecting the area’s creative and laid-back culture. Beyond the town and park, the region offers a variety of experiences, from wellness and sound baths to guided tours and outdoor exploration. The surrounding landscape is defined by its scale and simplicity, with open skies and uninterrupted views in every direction.

Please note that the last 2.5 miles to the home is a dirt road, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are well maintained and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have some bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.

A personal vehicle is necessary; rideshare apps are not guaranteed in this area.

-Pool Heating Fee-
If you’d like the pool heated to 84°F, please let us know at least 24 hours before arrival. A daily fee applies due to high fuel costs. If heating for multiple days, days must be consecutive. Pool heating is usually not needed from May through September.

No fee to heat the hot tub!

-Pool Heating-
Only one of the pool or hot tub can heat at once. If you wish to use the hot tub while the pool is heating, just note that the pool heating will turn off while the hot tub heats. Once the hot tub is turned back off, the pool heating will resume.

-Hot Tub Heating-
Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool and hot tub are serviced Tuesday and Friday, approximately between 11am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Desert Wildlife & Safety Tips-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Late Check Out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.
