LGS - Looking Glass

Perched among sculptural boulders and Joshua trees on 2.5 acres of Yucca Valley high desert, Looking Glass is a study in light and stillness. Floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves the line between inside and out across the main house and private casita, each with its own living room and kitchen. Linger poolside through golden afternoons, slip into the hot tub at dusk, then settle in by the fire as the sky goes dark and the stars arrive by the thousands. Few places make it this easy to slow down.

Named for Alice’s journey through the looking-glass into a world just slightly beyond the ordinary, the home was designed by Rae Rockwell Studio and featured in Rue Magazine. Clean, modern lines and warm, considered design carry throughout. The three-bedroom, three-bath main house centers on a chef’s kitchen and stone fireplace, while the one-bedroom, one-bath casita has its own kitchen, dining and living space, so families or two couples can each have room to spread out. Put a record on, pour something good, and let the desert do the rest.

-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.

► May through September: $150 per night, if needed
► October and April: $200 per night
► November through March: $250 per night

During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.

-Hot Tub Heating-
No fee to heat the hot tub! Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature.

-Pool and Hot Tub Heating-
Only one of the pool or hot tub can heat at a time. If you use the hot tub while the pool is heating, the pool heating will pause while the hot tub heats and resume once the hot tub is turned off.
