HNH - Here Now Haven

Here Now Haven is a modern desert retreat in Joshua Tree's Monument Manor, designed for slowing down and enjoying the landscape. Set on 2.5 acres with dramatic mountain views, this two-bedroom home invites you to spend afternoons by the pool, evenings around the fire, and quiet nights in the always-heated hot tub. Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass, a piano, and a record player make staying in just as appealing as exploring the national park.

There's an easygoing, creative spirit to this home. Clean modern architecture meets warm wood, a caramel leather sofa, and a soft blue mural that brings color into the otherwise understated interior. Expansive windows frame the rocky mountains and desert landscape, while sliding glass doors make the transition from indoors to outdoors feel effortless. Whether you're traveling as a couple or sharing the trip with close friends, the home offers space to unwind together without feeling crowded.

Music, art, and the surrounding landscape are part of the experience. Play a favorite record, sit down at the piano, or take the telescope outside after dark. -Outdoor Amenities-
The outdoor spaces are the heart of Here Now Haven. A long, rectangular pool sits against a backdrop of rugged mountains, with loungers arranged along the terrace for enjoying the sun and expansive views. The surrounding desert is wonderfully open, with native vegetation, rocky hillsides, and changing light that make the landscape feel different throughout the day.

After a morning exploring Joshua Tree National Park, come home to swim, stretch out beside the water, or rinse off in the outdoor shower. The patio connects directly to the house, making it easy to move between the kitchen, outdoor dining area, and pool without interrupting the afternoon.

As evening approaches, the fire feature brings warmth and atmosphere to the terrace. Settle into the outdoor seating as the mountains darken, then move to the always-heated hot tub when the air cools. With 2.5 acres to explore and broad views of the surrounding terrain, there's plenty of opportunity to appreciate the desert beyond the pool deck, too.

-Living Area-
Bright, open, and thoughtfully furnished, the main living space has the relaxed personality of a creative desert hideaway. A caramel leather sectional anchors the room, complemented by natural wood furniture, textured textiles, and a blue mural wall that adds an unexpected touch of color.

The open layout keeps the living area connected to the kitchen and dining spaces, while large glass doors bring in sunlight and views of the mountains. It's a comfortable place to gather after a hike, read in the afternoon, or settle in for a movie on the smart TV with soundbar.

A vintage-style upright piano and record player lend the room a more personal character. Play some music while dinner comes together or enjoy a quiet evening away from screens. There's also a telescope for exploring the night sky, a fitting addition to a home where the outdoors is such an important part of the stay.

-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen is contemporary and welcoming, with warm wood cabinetry, dark countertops, stainless steel appliances, and an open layout that makes cooking feel like part of the gathering rather than a separate activity.

Fully equipped for preparing meals at home, it includes a refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, and coffee maker. The adjacent dining table provides an inviting spot for breakfast or a relaxed dinner, with natural light filtering through the surrounding windows.

When the weather calls you outside, take your meal to the patio dining area. With the mountains beyond and the pool nearby, dining outdoors is an especially appealing way to enjoy the setting without leaving home.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Here Now Haven comfortably accommodates up to four guests across two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Both bedrooms feel calm and uncluttered, with warm wood accent walls, woven decorative details, and large windows that keep the surrounding mountains in view.

One bedroom features a king bed, while the other offers a spacious California king. One of the bedrooms also has sliding glass doors opening directly toward the pool terrace, making an early swim or a few quiet moments outside wonderfully convenient.

The two full bathrooms feature clean, contemporary finishes and hand-poured boutique soaps and shampoos. One includes a double vanity and a walk-in shower finished in wood-look tile, bringing a little of the home's natural material palette into the space.

With split air conditioning in every room, both bedrooms offer a comfortable place to retreat after long days in the desert.

-Surrounding Area-
Here Now Haven is in the Monument Manor area of Joshua Tree. Joshua Tree is known for some of the best rock climbing anywhere, and the national park's trails and boulder fields are close by for early starts.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

Many roads in the area are dirt, so please take it slow. A four-wheel drive car is not required, but roads often have ruts, particularly after rain.

-Pool Cover-
Please close the pool cover whenever the pool is not in use. Desert winds blow dirt into the pool, which can damage the filtration system. Leaving the cover open when the pool is not in use may result in an additional cleaning fee.

-Propane Use-
The home runs entirely on propane. Please be conservative with the outdoor fire feature, which runs on a timer; please do not extend it beyond the timer.

-Guest Count-
The head count should not exceed 4, and we are unable to host unregistered guests. If you would like to invite a friend over for lunch or a swim, please request approval ahead of time.

-Release and Waiver of Liability-
By making your reservation, you and the members of your party agree to release the hosts from all liability, including financial responsibility, for injuries and personal property damage that may occur during your stay. You understand that the property is surrounded by nature and that wildlife, including snakes and coyotes, is part of the experience, and that using the pool, hot tub, hiking and climbing anywhere on the property is at your own risk.

-House-Specific Rules-
► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.

-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.

► $400 per day

During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool and hot tub are serviced Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.
