CLA - Casa Lenta

Casa Lenta is the kind of Joshua Tree getaway where the best plan is not to make one. This airy, modern studio for two opens onto a poolside patio, with a hot tub, fire pit and sweeping views across the desert valley. Swim, read in the shade, grill dinner and linger outside as the mountains fade into evening. A daybed makes room for a third guest, but this little desert retreat is especially lovely for two.

Natural light pours through high windows and expansive sliding glass doors, making the desert feel like an extension of the home. Soft cream furnishings, warm wood cabinetry and weathered vintage pieces give the open studio a relaxed, understated character. From nearly anywhere in the room, you can look out toward the mountains, and the easy connection to the covered patio makes moving between indoors and out feel effortless. It's a thoughtfully simple space where the surroundings, rather than a packed itinerary, set the pace.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The outdoor spaces are what make Casa Lenta so easy to settle into. Just beyond the sliding doors, a long in-ground pool stretches along the covered patio, with loungers for drying off in the sun and plenty of desert scenery to take in between swims. Start the morning with a soak in the above-ground hot tub, watching the light reach the distant mountains, or spend a leisurely afternoon moving between the pool and the shade.

The covered patio makes outdoor meals a natural part of the day, with a gas BBQ and a dining table overlooking the landscape. As evening approaches, take a seat in the Adirondack chairs beside the propane fire pit. The open desert takes on softer colors, the mountains become silhouettes, and the lights of Joshua Tree begin to appear across the valley.

The property sits in a small desert neighborhood with an open landscape and is not fully fenced.

-Living Area-
Inside, the oversized cream sectional is made for stretching out after a swim, sharing a movie or spending an afternoon with a book. The Smart TV is there when you want it, but the view through the glass doors offers its own entertainment.

The living space feels airy and comfortable, with natural textures, rustic wood accents and an uncluttered layout that leaves plenty of room to relax. Mini-split air conditioning keeps the studio comfortable during warmer weather, while the nearby dining table provides a convenient spot to catch up on a little work if needed.

-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen is compact but well equipped for making real meals, whether you're preparing breakfast before exploring Joshua Tree or cooking dinner to enjoy at home. Warm wood cabinets, dark countertops and open shelving complement the studio's natural aesthetic.

You'll have a full refrigerator, gas stove and oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, cookware, dishes and dining essentials. The indoor table seats two and doubles as a workspace, while the covered patio offers a lovely alternative for meals outside. With the BBQ just steps away, grilling dinner and eating beneath the desert sky can easily become an evening ritual.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Casa Lenta is a one-bedroom studio with an open-plan sleeping arrangement, best suited to a couple or a small group of up to three guests.

The plush king bed sits within the main studio space, dressed in premium bedding and positioned near the natural light of the windows. Wall-mounted reading sconces and simple bedside furnishings make it a comfortable place to wind down at night or linger a little longer in the morning.

A daybed in the living area accommodates a third guest. Because the sleeping and living areas share one open space, the arrangement works best for guests who are comfortable without separate bedroom privacy.

The home has one bathroom with a clean, minimalist design, a round wood-framed mirror, modern fixtures and a wall niche for bath products. Each guest is provided with a bath towel, hand towel, washcloth and pool towel.

-Surrounding Area-
Downtown Joshua Tree is close by, with cafés, galleries and shops, and the Noah Purifoy Museum is well worth a visit. Joshua Tree National Park is there for hiking and scenic drives. The small neighborhood keeps things private without feeling too far off the beaten path.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.
