Welcome to Boulders Gate by The Cohost Company. Boulders Gate is a fully reimagined luxury desert retreat set on private acreage directly bordering Joshua Tree National Park. Named for the surrounding mountains of boulders, it feels like a gateway into another world - quiet, expansive, and deeply restorative. Here, mornings unfold in stillness, light pours through vast windows, and every moment invites reflection, connection, and a sense of something greater.
-Respecting the Desert & Dark Skies-
This home sits adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park and is surrounded by incredible wildlife, natural beauty, and some of the darkest night skies in Southern California. To help preserve this special environment and be considerate of our neighbors, we kindly ask all guests to keep music, conversations, and other noise at a respectful level throughout their stay.
This is not a party house. Please do not book this property if you are planning to party.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. All music must be turned off by 10:00 PM, and conversations should be kept at a low volume to avoid disturbing neighbors and wildlife. Only the property's built-in Sonos sound system may be used. Portable speakers, DJ equipment, amplified sound systems, and other external audio devices are strictly prohibited. Excess noise can result in county fines that will be passed on to you as the guest and the termination of your reservation without refund.
In support of Joshua Tree’s Dark Sky Ordinance and to minimize light pollution, all exterior landscape lighting automatically turns off at 9:00 PM each evening. For your convenience, we provide lanterns to help you safely navigate the outdoor areas after dark.

Just a short walk away, the Casita offers two additional bedrooms and two bathrooms, its own kitchen, as well as dedicated laundry, gym, and indoor sauna space through separate outdoor entrances.
Throughout, the home and property feel expansive yet intimate, offering both open areas for connection and quiet corners for reflection - ideal for slowing down, reconnecting, and being fully present.

While direct access to the park is available just outside your doorstep, please note that the official West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is about an 18 minute drive, for those who want to drive through the park.

The surrounding desert offers a range of experiences, from guided hikes and rock climbing to sound baths, meditation sessions, and wellness retreats. The property is designed across two separate structures - the Main House and the Casita. The Main House includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2 living areas, a kitchen and dining area, and the rooftop patio. The Casita offers 2 additional bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, along with its own kitchen, the gym (coming soon) & sauna, and laundry facilities. Please note that the Casita’s bedrooms, as well as the gym, sauna, and laundry areas, are accessed via exterior entrances. The Casita is located just a short walk from the Main House, creating a layout that balances togetherness with privacy. We recommend ensuring your group is comfortable with this indoor-outdoor flow prior to booking.
-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.

During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.
-Hot Tub Heating-
Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature.
-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool and hot tub are serviced Wednesday, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the pool.
-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

There are exterior camera monitoring the driveway and exterior of the property for security and occupancy verification purposes. The locations are as follows: front door and on the garage corner facing the driveway. There are no cameras facing interior spaces or private areas such as the pool.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the on-site gym and sauna during their stay. Please note that use of these amenities, including all fitness equipment and weights, as well as exposure to high heat in the sauna, is at your own risk. Welcome to Boulders Gate by The Cohost Company. Boulders Gate is a fully reimagined luxury desert retreat set on private acreage directly bordering Joshua Tree National Park. Named for the surrounding mountains of boulders, it feels like a gateway into another world - quiet, expansive, and deeply restorative. Here, mornings unfold in stillness, light pours through vast windows, and every moment invites reflection, connection, and a sense of something greater.

This home sits adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park and is surrounded by incredible wildlife, natural beauty, and some of the darkest night skies in Southern California. To help preserve this special environment and be considerate of our neighbors, we kindly ask all guests to keep music, conversations, and other noise at a respectful level throughout their stay.
This is not a party house. Please do not book this property if you are planning to party.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. All music must be turned off by 10:00 PM, and conversations should be kept at a low volume to avoid disturbing neighbors and wildlife. Only the property's built-in Sonos sound system may be used. Portable speakers, DJ equipment, amplified sound systems, and other external audio devices are strictly prohibited. Excess noise can result in county fines that will be passed on to you as the guest and the termination of your reservation without refund.
In support of Joshua Tree’s Dark Sky Ordinance and to minimize light pollution, all exterior landscape lighting automatically turns off at 9:00 PM each evening. For your convenience, we provide lanterns to help you safely navigate the outdoor areas after dark.

Designed by Wolfgang Pichler Design, this home blends clean, modern architecture with warm, grounding materials - natural wood, stone, and handcrafted zellige tile. The aesthetic is fresh yet soulful, where minimal lines meet organic texture. Floor-to-ceiling windows soar throughout, filling the home with ever-changing desert light and framing uninterrupted views of boulders, sky, and valley below.
The property is thoughtfully laid out as a Main House and a separate Casita. The Main House features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, along with expansive living spaces, a fully equipped kitchen, and dining areas designed for gathering. Just a short walk away, the Casita offers two additional bedrooms and two bathrooms, its own kitchen, as well as dedicated laundry, gym, and indoor sauna space through separate outdoor entrances.
Throughout, the home and property feel expansive yet intimate, offering both open areas for connection and quiet corners for reflection - ideal for slowing down, reconnecting, and being fully present.

A rooftop deck on the Main House elevates the experience even further, offering 360-degree views that stretch endlessly across the desert and mountains. With its own fire pit and seating, it becomes a front-row seat to golden hour and a stargazing sanctuary once night falls.
Multiple outdoor living spaces flow effortlessly from the home, including a front patio seating area, an outdoor dining space just off the Main House kitchen, and a built-in outdoor kitchen complete with BBQ, sink, and mini fridge near the pool area. The acreage itself feels wild and untouched - step beyond the property and you can walk directly into Joshua Tree National Park, weaving your own paths through boulders and open desert. Evenings bring cool breezes, painted skies, and some of the clearest star-filled nights imaginable.

The living areas in the Main House are grand yet inviting, with soaring ceilings and walls of glass that open to views of the pool, boulders, and valley beyond. Natural light flood the spaces throughout the day, creating a bright, uplifting atmosphere that shifts beautifully with the desert light.
Two distinct seating areas offer flexibility and comfort - one oriented toward the outdoors, perfect for conversation and connection, and another centered around a TV with surround sound for immersive movie nights. The layout flows seamlessly into the kitchen and dining areas, making it ideal for gathering while still allowing space to unwind. Whether it’s a slow morning with coffee or a cozy evening after a day of exploring, the spaces feel effortlessly welcoming.
-Kitchens & Dining Spaces-
The Main House kitchen is a true centerpiece - fully equipped, thoughtfully designed, and equally suited for casual mornings or elevated dinners. White oak cabinetry, natural stone countertops, and handcrafted zellige tile create a warm, refined aesthetic. High-end appliances include double ovens, a gas stovetop, and an oversized fridge, while a separate bar area provides the perfect setup for cocktails.
A breakfast bar center island captures soft morning light, while the main dining area sits nearby, connected yet distinct. Just outside the Main House kitchen, an outdoor dining table extends the experience into the open air and bouldered surroundings, complemented by a fully built outdoor kitchen by the pool with a BBQ, sink, and mini fridge.
The Casita also features its own fully stocked kitchen, offering added flexibility for larger groups or those seeking a bit more independence. Please note that there is a fridge in the Casita, but no. freezer. Whether preparing meals together in the Main House or enjoying a quieter moment in the Casita, every space is designed to bring people together with ease.
-Bedrooms & Bathrooms-
Each bedroom is designed as a private retreat, offering a sense of calm, luxury, and connection to the surrounding landscape. Expansive windows frame incredible views from every room, while spa-inspired bathrooms feature natural tile, clean lines, and a serene atmosphere.
The Main House includes three bedrooms, all with king beds, ensuite bathrooms, and desk spaces - perfect for working from home in peace. The downstairs primary suite offers an ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower, creating a true sanctuary. A second downstairs bedroom has a beautifully designed ensuite bathroom that also opens up to the living area, while the upstairs bedroom features its own ensuite with a walk-in shower.
The Casita adds two additional bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upstairs, a king bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Downstairs, a playful yet refined bunk room features two queen bunk beds and access to a nearby bathroom off the Casita kitchen.
-Casita, Gym & Sauna-
Just a short walk from the Main House, the Casita offers its own sense of privacy and independence while remaining closely connected. Inside, you’ll find a fully stocked kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms - perfect for guests who appreciate a bit of separation.
Attached to the Casita are additional amenities designed for wellness and convenience, including a dedicated gym space, a sauna, and laundry facilities with two washers and two dryers. Each of these areas has its own separate outdoor entrance, allowing for seamless use without disrupting the Casita living spaces. It’s an ideal setup for balancing togetherness with personal space.

Located at the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, the home offers a rare opportunity to step directly into one of California’s most iconic landscapes. The park itself is a place of striking contrasts - massive boulder formations, endless desert vistas, and winding trails that invite exploration at every level. While direct access to the park is available just outside your doorstep, please note that the official West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is about an 18 minute drive, for those who want to drive through the park.
Nearby Joshua Tree town is known for its creative, laid-back energy, with eclectic shops, local cafes, and a strong sense of artistic community. The surrounding desert offers a range of experiences, from guided hikes and rock climbing to sound baths, meditation sessions, and wellness retreats. The landscape feels vast and otherworldly - an expansive desert dotted with sculptural rock formations and endless skies that shift in color throughout the day.
A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.
-Property Configuration-
The property is designed across two separate structures - the Main House and the Casita. The Main House includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2 living areas, a kitchen and dining area, and the rooftop patio. The Casita offers 2 additional bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, along with its own kitchen, the gym (coming soon) & sauna, and laundry facilities. Please note that the Casita’s bedrooms, as well as the gym, sauna, and laundry areas, are accessed via exterior entrances. The Casita is located just a short walk from the Main House, creating a layout that balances togetherness with privacy. We recommend ensuring your group is comfortable with this indoor-outdoor flow prior to booking.
-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.

During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.
-Hot Tub Heating-
Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature.
-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool and hot tub are serviced Wednesday, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the pool.
-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.
-Security Cameras-
There are exterior camera monitoring the driveway and exterior of the property for security and occupancy verification purposes. The locations are as follows: front door and on the garage corner facing the driveway. There are no cameras facing interior spaces or private areas such as the pool.
-Gym & Sauna Use-
Guests are welcome to enjoy the on-site gym and sauna during their stay. Please note that use of these amenities, including all fitness equipment and weights, as well as exposure to high heat in the sauna, is at your own risk. Simply unforgettable. In every possible way.
Beautiful location and fabulous house. It made for a very restful vacation.
The short version: book it. The long version: every bit as good as the photos show and unlike a lot of Airbnbs these photos actually undersell how large and open everything is, not to mention how amazing the boulders are. Super fun to scramble on just like deeper in the park. The main house feels much bigger than the photos suggest, as was the pool, which we incorrectly thought was plunge-size. As you see in the photos, if you book this you will live by the pool. The setting is surreal. We didn't eat out once, instead taking full advantage of the kitchen (tip: proper grocery in Yucca Valley, not JT. Plan accordingly). Last thing: we don't Airbnb every week, but have booked our fair share of places over the years. This host is as responsive as they come. If you have any questions during your stay rest assured they'll get back to you almost-instantly. I get a little nervous when it's a company hosting, but they behave like an owner who genuinely cares about your experience. Great stay.
