Welcome to Boulders Beyond, a remodeled five-bedroom desert retreat on 2.5 private acres just minutes from Joshua Tree Village. A dramatic wall of boulders rises beyond the fully fenced backyard, where a private pool, heated spa, sauna, pickleball court and fire pit create your own desert oasis. Come for the adventure, then stay for slow mornings and starlit nights.

Boulders Beyond is a spacious, light-filled desert home designed for gathering, unwinding and experiencing the natural beauty of Joshua Tree. The home’s relaxed interiors flow into an unforgettable backyard framed by a rugged mountainside of monumental boulders.

The main house includes four comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and an inviting living room with a fireplace. A detached guest house provides the fifth bedroom, a third bathroom and a game room with space for yoga or quiet relaxation.

With multiple indoor and outdoor areas to spread out, the property is ideal for families and groups of friends seeking a peaceful getaway close to Joshua Tree Village and the National Park.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The backyard is the heart of Boulders Beyond. A rugged mountainside of boulders creates a spectacular natural backdrop, giving the space a sense of privacy and unmistakable Joshua Tree character. Spend warm afternoons in the private in-ground pool, relax beneath the fountains or stretch out on one of the four chaise loungers. Pool heating is available during the cooler months for an additional fee. The built-in spa can be heated at no additional charge, while the private sauna offers another peaceful place to unwind. The fully fenced yard also features a pickleball court, hammocks, cornhole, a propane BBQ, outdoor dining and a fire pit for evenings beneath the stars. The pool’s separate safety gate has been removed, so children must be supervised closely throughout the outdoor area.

Because the surrounding boulders can carry and amplify sound, this property is intended for peaceful enjoyment. Outdoor music is not permitted, and guests must keep voices and activity at a respectful level.

-Living Area-
The living room is a warm and comfortable gathering place after a day of hiking, shopping or exploring the High Desert. Settle in beside the fireplace for a movie, enjoy a quiet evening indoors or bring everyone together for games and conversation. The easygoing layout offers enough room for the group to spend time together without feeling crowded. A dedicated workspace and high-speed Wi-Fi make it possible to stay connected when needed.

The detached guest house creates a second recreational space with shuffleboard, foosball and open floor space that works beautifully for yoga, stretching or meditation.

-Kitchen & Dining-
The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed to prepare relaxed breakfasts, shared dinners and celebratory meals at home. Cookware, dishes, utensils and everyday essentials are provided, along with a Keurig for easy morning coffee.

Gather indoors for a casual meal or take dinner outside to the private patio, where the outdoor dining table and propane BBQ make it easy to enjoy the desert air and boulder views.

-Bedrooms & Bathrooms-
Boulders Beyond accommodates up to 12 guests across five bedrooms and six beds.
► Bedroom 1 features a king bed and an attached ensuite bathroom.
► Bedroom 2 features a king bed.
► Bedroom 3 features two queen beds.
► Bedroom 4 features one queen bed.
► Bedroom 5 is located in the detached guest house and features a queen Murphy bed, a private full bathroom with a shower and a separate exterior entrance.

The main house includes two bathrooms, one of which is attached to the primary bedroom. The detached guest house includes the third full bathroom, giving larger groups additional privacy and convenience.

-Surrounding Area-
Boulders Beyond feels tucked into the desert while remaining remarkably close to the heart of Joshua Tree. Downtown Joshua Tree Village is just a few minutes away, placing locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, boutiques and the weekly farmers market within easy reach.

Joshua Tree National Park is close enough for sunrise hikes, scenic drives, rock climbing and sunset adventures among its famous Joshua trees and monumental rock formations. Guests can also explore the vintage shops and restaurants of Old Town Yucca Valley, experience a sound bath at the Integratron or spend an evening enjoying live music in Pioneertown.

Return home to your private boulder oasis, where the landscape glows at sunset and the clear desert sky comes alive with stars.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that there is a locked supply closet that houses supplies for the rental.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

The roads leading to Boulders Beyond are paved. The property itself has a dirt driveway with parking available in front of and beside the house.

-Noise and Outdoor Use-
The surrounding boulders amplify sound and can carry voices toward neighboring homes. Outdoor music and external speakers are not permitted at any time. Please keep conversations and outdoor activity peaceful and respectful.

Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am. Parties and large gatherings are strictly prohibited. Unauthorized parties may result in a $500 charge, while noise violations may result in fines of at least $1,000.

-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 84 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.

The pool heating fee is $350 for the first day and $250 for each consecutive additional day.

During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 84°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.

No fee to heat the hot tub!

-Hot Tub Heating-
Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool and hot tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

Please avoid entering the pool or hot tub immediately after service, as chemical levels may be temporarily elevated.

-Pool and Spa Safety-
Guests must shower before and after using the pool or spa. Please rinse away dirt, oils, lotions and other products before entering the water, as these substances can affect water quality and cause discoloration. Additional cleaning or maintenance charges may apply if the pool or spa is left excessively dirty. Children under 14 must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult at all times. The pool’s separate safety gate has been removed, so close supervision is essential throughout the backyard. Proper swimwear is required. Street clothes and denim are not permitted in the water. Diving, jumping, running, rough play and excessive splashing are prohibited. Large flotation devices or toys that may obstruct other swimmers are not allowed. Food, alcohol, drugs and glass containers are prohibited in the pool and spa area. Pets are not permitted in the pool or spa area.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate cats because of the owner’s severe allergy. Thank you for understanding.

-Security Camera-
There is one exterior security camera facing the driveway that monitors arriving vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras facing private guest areas, including the pool or spa.

-Lost and Found-
Items left behind are subject to a minimum $50 return-handling and shipping fee, depending on the destination and shipping requirements.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Damage Waiver Policy-
Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver

-Late Check Out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.
