BTR - Bartlett Ridge

Perched above Yucca Valley, Bartlett Ridge is a beautifully reimagined 1960s desert home where the pool seems to meet the mountains. Spend sun-filled days on the expansive deck, take in panoramic views stretching from Joshua Tree to the San Jacinto Mountains, and gather around the fire pit after dark. With warm, thoughtfully designed interiors, three bedrooms, and a hot tub, this hilltop retreat is made for families and friends who want to slow down and enjoy the desert together.

There is something special about a home where the landscape becomes part of the architecture. At Bartlett Ridge, an entire wall of sliding glass doors frames the mountains beyond the pool, filling the interiors with natural light and making the outdoors feel like an extension of the living room. Original 1960s character meets a relaxed, contemporary aesthetic, with white beamed ceilings, pale wood, sculptural lighting, and layered natural textures. The result is inviting and beautifully understated, with plenty of room to gather and equally appealing places to find a moment to yourself.

Whether you're spending the afternoon floating above the valley, preparing dinner together, or returning from a day exploring Joshua Tree, the house encourages an easy rhythm. With two king bedrooms, a playful bunk room, and comfortable indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, it's especially well suited to couples traveling together or families looking for a memorable desert escape.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The pool deck is the centerpiece of Bartlett Ridge, and it's easy to see why. Positioned high above the surrounding desert, the swimming pool overlooks a remarkable sweep of mountains, rocky hills, and open valley. A spacious deck wraps around the water, with loungers arranged for soaking up the sun, reading between swims, or simply watching the light move across the landscape.

The setting is particularly beautiful in the late afternoon, when the distant mountains take on warmer colors and the desert stretches out in every direction. Enjoy the view from the water, settle into the hot tub, or bring everyone together for a casual dinner at the covered outdoor dining area. With a BBQ grill nearby, there's little reason to interrupt an afternoon outside.

As evening arrives, the fire pit offers another place to gather. Adirondack chairs surround the flames, creating a comfortable spot for conversation, a drink, and watching the stars emerge over the Mojave.

-Living Area-
Inside, Bartlett Ridge feels bright, open, and connected to its surroundings. White-painted ceiling beams and generous windows create an airy atmosphere, while soft neutral furnishings, woven textures, and warm wood accents bring a sense of comfort.

The main living room is arranged for spending time together, with generous sofas, comfortable lounge chairs, and a substantial wood coffee table. Open the sliding glass doors and the room flows directly onto the pool deck, making it easy for everyone to move between the two spaces.

A second seating area offers a quieter place to read or catch up, while the Smart TV is ready for relaxed movie nights. The thoughtful furniture and natural materials give the home a refined but approachable character, equally comfortable for an afternoon with friends or a slow morning indoors.

-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen balances the home's midcentury roots with clean, contemporary finishes. Pale wood cabinetry, stone-toned countertops, and a breakfast bar with stools create a warm, functional space where cooking feels like part of the vacation rather than a chore.

Fully stocked for preparing meals, the kitchen features a double-oven range, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee-making essentials. The breakfast bar gives guests a place to sit and chat while someone cooks, and the open layout keeps the conversation flowing into the adjacent living spaces.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading out to explore, put together lunch between swims, or prepare a full dinner at home. For meals outside, the covered patio dining area and BBQ grill offer a wonderful alternative, particularly as the afternoon heat gives way to cooler desert evenings.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Bartlett Ridge accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own personality, with comfortable furnishings and an understated desert aesthetic that makes settling in feel effortless.

The first king bedroom is a restful retreat with a distinctive arched upholstered headboard, soft linens, woven pendant lights, and flowing curtains. Natural textures and warm, neutral tones create a calm atmosphere, while a comfortable chair offers a spot to read or enjoy a quiet morning.

The second king bedroom continues the relaxed design with a woven wall hanging, ceiling fan, and glass door leading outside. It's a lovely option for guests who enjoy stepping into the fresh desert air first thing in the morning.

The third bedroom brings a playful touch to the house, with a bunk bed, painted saguaro mural, and sunburst mirror. It's an inviting space for younger guests, giving children a bedroom that feels distinctly their own.

Both bathrooms feature thoughtfully chosen finishes and walk-in showers. One has a warm wood vanity and vessel sink, while the other incorporates patterned tile and a round mirror. Together, they provide comfortable, practical spaces for guests to get ready before a day exploring the desert or an evening spent at home.
